La Chance

Specializing in ethically sourced natural materials and exceptional craftsmanship, La Chance is a Paris-based design company that produces furniture, lighting, accessories, and rugs with a unique style that is highly contemporary, yet strongly influenced by the Art Deco era.

Founded by architect Louise Breguet and Jean-Baptiste Souletie, whose background was in finance, the company’s studio in the Marais district is driven by a talented team from an eclectic range of disciplines. Realizing the work of an inspiring selection of both established and new generation international designers, the studio’s creations offer a warm and often playful take on luxury and beautifully executed design. Committed to only using the finest materials such as marble, solid wood, metal, cork, leather, blown glass, and pure lambswool from New Zealand for the rugs, La Chance works closely with small scale manufacturers in Europe (with the exception of India where the rugs are custom-made), merging traditional techniques with modern innovation. A strong emphasis is also placed on sustainability and the company sources wood only from European species and FSC approved forests.

Sculptural and unique, the creations from La Chance often look like works of art. On first impression, form eclipses a conventional sense of functionality and the designs can easily become the talking point of a room. Cymbal is one such piece. This modern pendant lamp is made from blown glass, aluminum, and two slightly convex trays. The chrome version looks transparent, reflecting its environment whereas the black one orders a more graphic style.

Heralded by a wide array of leading international titles in the press as one of the most exciting designer brand’s to emerge in recent times, a piece from La Chance exemplifies the highest levels of contemporary design and craftsmanship available today and the studio’s eco-consciousness approach and timeless aesthetic ensures an investment to be admired and cherished far into the future.
